Cheats to Make Friends in Sims 3

Making friends is an important game aspect in "The Sims 3" as healthy relationships can lead to a job promotion, a boost in charisma, completing challenges or earning lifetime awards. Building friendships in "The Sims 3" can be just as tedious as in real life as two Sims must first get to know one another and see whether they are compatible before a friendship is forged. However, unlike real life, you can simply use cheat codes to earn more friendships in "The Sims 3."

The Sims 3 Cheat Console

To enter cheat codes for "The Sims 3," you must first bring up the cheat console by holding down the "Control," "Shift" and "C" keys at the same time. Some Windows Vista users may need to also hold down the Windows key when bringing up the cheat console. When a text box appears, type "testingcheatsenabled true" and press "Enter." You must have the testing cheats enabled to use any of the cheats involving relationships. To turn off these cheats, type "testingcheatsenabled false."

Know Everyone

Use this cheat to have your active Sim instantly know every character in town. Enable the testing cheats, hold down "Shift" and click on your Sim's mailbox. Select the option "Make Your Sim Know Everyone" to enable the cheat. The process will take a few moments as there are several characters to process. This cheat will make your active Sim at the acquaintance level with every other Sim character in the game that he has not already met. Now that your Sim knows all characters, he can invite them to parties, talk to them on the phone or hang out to build better relationships.

Make Me Friends

Use this cheat to make instant friends. With the testing cheats enabled, press "Shift" and click on your mailbox. Select the option "Make Me Friends." This enables your active Sim to instantly obtain the friendship level with a few randomly selected Sims. You can perform this cheat multiple times to obtain more friends. The only downside to using this cheat is that you have no control over the age of the friends you make, so you could potentially make friends with elder Sims who end up dying soon after.

Select Friendships

This cheat allows you to alter your relationship level with any Sim your active Sim has met. Open your Sim's relationship screen with the testing cheats enabled and change your relationship with another Sim by dragging the meter with your mouse until it is full. You can only alter the relationship level of Sims that your active Sim has already met, so use this cheat in conjunction with the "Know Everyone" cheat to become best friends with every Sim in town.
