Fruits are an important part of your everyday diet and since there is such an abundant variety to choose from, it shouldn't be hard to enjoy them. For people that find it difficult to digest acidic foods, some of these fruits should be avoided. A person sensitive to acids want to look at fruits that have an alkalizing effect in the body. Alkaline is basically another way of saying no acid. Learning which fruits have a high acid count and which fruits do not will help you know which varieties of nature's candy you can comfortably enjoy.
Bananas are a good food source to have if you are looking to lower your intake of acids. Bananas help stimulate the cells in the internal stomach lining. This helps your stomach to produce a thicker mucus which will help to combat acidity.
Sweet cherries are essential to your health. Not only do they help to lower the uric acid levels in the body, they also provide you with your daily intake of necessary antioxidants. Cherries help to relieve the pain caused by gout and can also help fight diabetes.
Apples are known for helping people manage their acid reflux and are an alkalizing fruit. Apples are also high in fiber and provide a source of vitamin C. Consuming an apple on a regular basis also helps with weight loss and asthma among other things, making the old saying of "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" not a myth.
Another good choice of fruit that has an alkalizing effect in the body is a simple watermelon. This fruit also contain no fats or cholesterol, and watermelon is a good source of potassium. They are also known to provide you with extra energy.
