Bar Owner Equipment Checklist
A bar is a place to relax and unwind while having a beer, glass of wine or cocktail with friends and family. For a bar to be successful, it is helpful to have the proper bar equipment, which will allow the staff to serve quality drinks quickly and efficiently.
-
Bar Sink
-
Bar sinks are designed for washing efficiency with a sink that has a glass scrubber on the bottom and one for rinsing. A glass is plunged onto the scrubber a few times, then rinsed in the rinsing sink and moved to a drying rack. Placed in front the bar, they allow a barkeeper to wash glasses in between customers, which reduces staffing needs.
Draft Beer Tap
-
If you want to serve draft beer, you will need a draft beer tap system. The system uses CO2 gas pressurized lines to dispense keg beer. Draft beer offers a cheaper alternative to canned or bottled beer and is preferred by some patrons. A draft beer tap allows a bar to offer different size beers and also sell by the pitcher.

Ice Machine
-
A commercial ice machine is needed to keep up with demands of a successful bar business. Ice is used in soft drinks, mixed drinks and frozen cocktails. Commercial ice machines produce ice quickly, efficiently and take up little space. They are available in various models depending on the shape of ice it produces and quantity of output.
Back Bar Cooler
-
Back bar coolers are use to store canned and bottled beverages as well as mixers and garnishes. Coolers should have large doors for easy access that will aid in stock rotation and allow multiple people access at one time.
Blender
-
A professional bar blender is essential to any bar due to its efficient ice crushing ability, easy cleaning design and quality components. They are designed to withstand heavy use and do not overheat easily as normal blenders often do. A blender is used to blend liquids, chop fruits and crush ice for frozen drinks.
Frozen Beverage Machines
-
Frozen beverage machines allow a bar to make and sell frozen tropical drinks, such as margaritas and daiquiris. It uses a rotating beverage drum that is externally frozen to produce a slushy liquid ideal for mixing with alcohol. There are a wide variety of drink mixes available that are ready to use; they only require pouring them into the machine and turning it on.
