Coffee Bag Necklace
-
You can use coffee bags to create a colorful necklace. Cut a colorful coffee bag into perfect circles using a circular cookie cutter. Fold the circles in half to make a fan shape, then again and a third time to make a triangle shape. Sew a single stitch of fishing wire into the pointed corner of your triangle. Make six of these petal shapes and glue them into a circle on a piece of green felt. Use a yellow button and a different color of felt over the middle of the circle. Cut the flower out of green felt and attach it to a piece of coordinating ribbon with glue before wearing it out.
Mylar Snowflakes
-
Most people have created paper snowflakes in grade school during the winter. Add a interesting and reflective spin to the traditional paper snowflake by making it out of the inside of a Mylar coffee bag. Cut a square out of the reflective interior of the coffee bag. Allow your children to fold and cut the Mylar however they like to create their own personalized snowflake. Open the Mylar to its full spread and admire your child's creativity. Hang the snowflake up using a piece of fishing line and a needle.

Pencil Pouch
-
Send your kids to school in style by making them a colorful pencil pouch from an old coffee bag. Clean out the inside of the coffee bag to remove any stray grinds. Cut one side of the coffee bag from the top to the base of the bag. Sew the top of the bag shut so that the seam is not showing. Add a zipper to the seam that you have cut out so that the seam of the bag is not evident. Once the seams are secure, make sure that the bag will hold a large amount of pencils so your kids do not end up scrambling after their school supplies.
Tote Bags
-
You can also make waterproof tote bags for carrying your swimsuit back and forth to the gym using Mylar coffee bags. Cut two bags so that they stretch out flat. If the bags are not big enough for the tote you would like, you can use another bag for each side of the tote. Use duct tape to seal the pieces of Mylar together on the inside for each piece. Cut the reflective pieces of Mylar in half and place them on either side of the coffee bag. Attach the seams on the inside with a complementary shade of duct tape. The outside pieces can be sealed using clear packaging tape. Add handles and a rim from the duct tape, and your tote is finished.
