Whether purchased for yourself or as a gift, a luxury necktie can be a great addition to any man's wardrobe. Elite mens' fashion designers manufacture their ties from finer materials, such as high-quality silks and utilize superior construction techniques. A high-end necktie is a great way to bring new life to an old suit or to provide the perfect finishing touch for a new one.

In 1923, Italian-born Salvatore Ferragamo opened a store in Hollywood and began selling his line of ladies' shoes to local film stars. Long associated with women's luxury goods, it was not until 1970 that Ferragamo began designing clothing and accessories for men.
Ferragamo neckties are manufactured in Italy, usually from silk, and are available in a variety of colors and patterns. His ties retail for approximately $170 and can be found at higher-end department stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Italian menswear manufacturer, Brioni, is well known for his luxurious suits, the prices of which sometimes reach five figures. Brioni neckties are generally priced at around $200. A wide variety of colors and patterns is also available, from bold paisleys and stripes to more conservative and subdued solids.
Founded in 1984, London-based Thomas PInk is a luxury clothing and accessories manufacturer. Pink's designers pride themselves on the detailed construction methods used in their products. Their 7- fold tie, for example, is made from a single piece of fabric. Rather than cutting and stitching, the fabric is made into a tie through a series of folds. Many Thomas Pink neckties are priced near $100, though the 7-fold variants can cost nearly twice that amount. They are available at Thomas Pink stores worldwide.
Italian designer Stefano Ricci has spent 30 years designing high-end men's clothing, with his suits selling for up to $30,000. His 2006 line featured a necktie studded with nearly 3,000 Swarovski crystals and priced at $1,200. Most neckties in the Stefano Ricci collection are priced in the $200 range, though some that involve more laborious construction techniques or require a greater number of materials can cost considerably more. Stefano Ricci ties are made in Italy and can be found at Neiman Marcus and other luxury goods retailers.
