Wear green with handmade pins or a hat. Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day. Make a St. Patrick's Day hat out of green craft foam you shape to look like a top hat. Or cut a shamrock shape out of green craft foam, add glitter and wear as a pendant or pin.
Help the kids make a cute leprechaun trap out of a recycled oatmeal box decorated to look like a tall leprechaun hat.
Let kids learn their colors by making colorful rainbows. Give the kids some construction paper, glue and Fruit Loops, then let them sort the colors and make a rainbow to hang on the wall.

Transform regular Bingo into a St. Patty's Day-themed affair. Everyone loves Bingo, but St. Patty's Bingo is even more fun. Just change the letters B-I-N-G-O to L-U-C-K-Y by taping over them for St. Patty's and you can remove the letters later.

Make a shamrock garland to add to your St. Patrick's decor. Decorate your home with homemade leprechauns, rainbows, pots of gold, shamrock garlands and all things St. Patrick's Day. Cut the center out of a paper plate and glue green construction paper shamrocks all over it to make a wreath. Loop green paper strips together to form a paper chain garland. Embellish with paper shamrocks or St. Patty's Day stickers.

Give the kids printable activities to keep them busy. Lots of websites have printable coloring pages and activities for St. Patrick's Day. Worksheets teach as well as entertain kids while the grownups visit with one another. Give the kids some St. Patrick's word search sheets, find the match pages, coloring pages and crayons and let them have fun.
