Poetry Wedding Gifts for Parents
Weddings are a time full of emotion that can sometimes be best expressed in poetry. At your wedding, give your parents the gift of a poem to tell them how much you appreciate all they've taught and done for you. Draft a poem for your parents or in-laws as a gift during this time of love and family. Follow a certain poetry style, such as a limerick, sonnet or rhyme, or create one of your own. The important thing is to send a message about how much your parents mean to you. Capture a memory from your youth or discuss what they've taught you and how you'll use this knowledge in your new marriage. Write a poem for each set of parents or draft one that can be given to both.

Give your parents the gift of spoken word by performing a poem for them. Surprise them by reciting the poem during the wedding's rehearsal dinner or even during the wedding itself. If your parents aren't confident in their poetry abilities but want to learn, also give them a gift certificate for a creative writing class where they can hone their skills.
