Crafts With Cutting Up a T-Shirt
T-shirts are very versatile clothing items. With a little bit of work and creative flair, they can be transformed into exciting and original works of wearable art. There are lots of cut T-shirt ideas, but a few are especially fun. Your design can be very simple or very complicated and you could spend anywhere from an hour to a whole afternoon designing and making your own cut T-shirt.

Hipster T-Shirt
-
This is a pretty easy design to make. It produces a shirt that's laced together at the bottom half of the back and loose at the top. Cut a rectangle out of the center of the back of the shirt, starting from the bottom. Cut the rectangle into a thin spiral, which you'll use for lacing. Then cut four small holes on each side of the cut-out area. Thread the thin cloth spiral through the holes and tie it off at the bottom.
Lace-Back Tee
-
This is similar to the "Hipster" shirt. To make this shirt, cut a scoop out of the back of the shirt, this time from the collar. Cut holes around the sides of the scooped-out fabric and thread lace or ribbon through the holes. You could insert grommets into the holes to make it more polished looking.

Fitted T With Cut Sides
-
You can easily fit a T-shirt by cutting the sides into strips and then tying them back together. This works well for curvy people who want a more flattering shirt. Simply cut up the sides of the shirt and then cut sideways to make strips. Putting the shirt on while you tie the strips together will produce a better fitting shirt.
Other Basic Models
-
You can easily cut the neck and sleeves of T-shirts to produce other interesting designs. Cutting off the sleeves produces a sleeveless shirt. You can scallop the edges if you like. You can do interesting things with the neckline, too. Cut it deeper or cut a really wide neckline a la "Flashdance."
