If you are preparing to take a driver's license examination, you might want to practice your knowledge and driving skills at one of the free online sites that provides driving tests. At these sites, you can practice written exam tests or take simulated driving tests that will gauge your driving in real traffic situations.

Online Drivers Education Game

  • In this game simulation, the driver has a choice of four driving instructors who will guide the driver through practice and the test. Drivers can complete practice lessons involving parallel parking, turning left at a green light, turning at a four way stop and pulling out of a parking space. Drivers use their computers' arrow keys for steering. The simulated instructors provide feedback on each task, and the driver can proceed to the driver's test when ready.

Shockwave Driving Test

  • This free online game tests driver knowledge and skills under the direction of a driving instructor named Ed. Use the "up" arrow on your keyboard to accelerate your vehicle. The "down" arrow stops the vehicle and puts it in reverse. The left and right arrow keys turn the car. Users can practice right turns, stopping at an intersection, merging with traffic and parking. When ready, take the test which includes backing out of a parking spot.

California Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Knowledge Tutorial

  • This free online game tests a driver's knowledge of traffic rules covering topics such as right of way, turns, lane usage, signs, traffic controls, parking and railroad crossings. Users are asked questions, such as "When is it legal to park a car in front of a driveway?" or "Which way do you turn your front wheels when parking uphill next to a curb?" Images of cars in position are provided.

Driver's Obstacle Test Game

  • The goal in this driver's game is to avoid a collision. Using arrow keys to maneuver the car, the driver speeds along an eight lane highway in a blue car, changing lanes frequently to avoid hitting other cars or pedestrians. This game provides a good test to gauge a driver's reflexes and alertness.
