Free Easter Egg Hunt Games for Preschoolers
With Easter comes the expense of new outfits, baskets and food. Games add excitement and fun to celebrations but their costs can drain a tight budget. Cut costs by planning free games for preschoolers using ingenuity and items around the house.

Bunny-Bunny-Rabbit

Play Bunny-Bunny-Rabbit, the Easter version of Duck-Duck-Goose. Have the children sit in a circle. The child who is "it" walks around the circle patting each child's head saying Bunny-Bunny-Rabbit. The goals is for the preschooler tapped as "rabbit" to hop around the circle without being tagged "it."
Guess What's Inside

Hide small items inside plastic eggs. Have the preschoolers shake the eggs to guess their contents. Include items found around the house such as small bells, uncooked rice and dried beans. Whoever guesses the contents of the eggs wins.

Easter Egg Roll

Play a game that's been played at the White House since 1878. Hold an Easter egg roll. Have each child bring a long handled cooking spoon to the egg hunt. Use left-over colored eggs for the roll. Mark the start and finish line with cones or ribbon. Preschoolers race to see who can roll their eggs with spoons to the finish line first.

Pin the Carrot on the Bunny

Play the Easter version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Draw a bunny on poster board or a large sheet of paper. On card stock draw a carrot for each contestant and cut out. Hang the bunny poster and place tape on the carrots. Have children take turns being blindfolded while pinning the carrot on the rabbit. The preschooler who pins the carrot closest to the bunny's mouth wins.
