Flip Up
-
This game can easily be played for addition, subtraction and multiplication. Students split a full deck of cards that has the joker cards removed. They leave their stack face down until it is time to play. Before the game begins, the students need to decide which operation they are going to use. The game starts with each child flipping up the top card on their deck and the two cards are used to make a number sentence. The first student to correctly answer the problem gets the cards. The student with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
War
-
War is a classic card game that is both fun and educational. Players divide a full stack of cards evenly. When the game starts, both players pull two cards from their deck and add them together. The player with the higher sum gets all of the cards from the round. If the players tie, they pull 3 more cards until one player wins the round. The object of the game is to collect the most cards.

Integer War
-
A different take on the classic game of War, Integer War uses the number cards ace through 10. Each black card represents a positive integer, and each red card represents a negative integer. Each player gets an even stack of cards placed face down. The students turn over their top card and the first student to add the cards correctly gets both cards. The winner is the player with the most cards collected when all of the cards are used.
Concentration
-
Concentration is a classic game that can help young children learn and recognize numbers. Cards are placed in rows face down on a table. The players take turns turning over two cards trying to make a match. If a match is made, the player keeps the card. If there is not a match, the player turns the cards back over and the next one gets her turn. The child with the most matches at the end of the game is the winner.
