A quality leather-bound scrapbook memorializes the moments you spent with your grandfather. Scrapbooks hold photos of different sizes so print pictures of sentimental moments in 8-by-10-inch as well as 5-by-7-inch and 4-by-6-inch sizes. Also include trinkets from times that you have spent together, such as movie ticket stubs and concert ticket stubs. Decorate the scrapbook with ribbons and stickers. Use a marker to write out sentimental sayings, such as "a grandfather has silver in his hair and gold in his heart." Or gather some sentimental items to create an "all about us" gift basket. Add photos of you and your grandfather together. Alternatively, include tickets for you to enjoy the day together at a local art museum or sporting event.

Grandfathers appreciate a sentimental mix CD. Download some of your grandfather's favorite songs that are meaningful to him, such as his wedding song. Then burn the songs onto a CD that has a theme. For instance, make a CD about appreciation that includes songs such as "Kind and Generous" by Natalie Merchant and "Thank You" by Dido. Make another CD about love and include the song "To Sir, With Love" by Lulu. Then put several of the CDs together to make a compilation gift.

This gift could also be homemade by printing off calendar pages and photos. Each page of the calendar can typically hold about four photos. Plus the calendar can have a background image behind the photos. In addition type up special occasions on the calendar days, such as family birthdays.

Use your talents to make a heartfelt gift. For instance, if you are skilled with paints make an oil painting of a sentimental location, such as your grandfather's childhood home. Write your grandfather a poem about your favorite memories with him. Alternatively, write a short story that shows the love and appreciation that you have for him. If you are a skilled lyricist, write your grandfather a song and perform it for him.
