Halloween T-Shirt Ideas for Toddlers
Halloween T-shirts serve well as toddler Halloween costumes. The shirts can also be worn throughout the fall Halloween season. Young children typically do not like to wear a mask or a cumbersome costume. A little make-up or face paint can enhance a themed T-shirt costume, or the toddler can wear simple accessories to complete a desired look. Choose from familiar or one-of-a-kind ideas to create a Halloween outfit for your toddler.

Plain T-Shirts
-
Begin with an undecorated shirt for your toddler, and accessorize the plain shirt with items to complete a simple costume. A cowboy hat and neck bandanna will quickly turn a toddler into a cowpoke. Superhero costumes need only have a cape or lightweight kitchen towel to tie loosely around a child's neckline. Your ballerina fan can wear a tutu with a matching T-shirt. For a royal look, place a crown on a boy's head or a tiara on a girl, and have the child carry a scepter or wand.
Pre-printed Shirts
-
Party and department stores carry a variety of printed T-shirts in Halloween colors and designs as well as favorite cartoon characters and animals. Printed shirts work well for costumes. A jack-o'-lantern face printed on an orange T-shirt can be a costume without accessories or can be worn with a green hat for a pumpkin stem. Animal-printed shirts help your child be his favorite animal. Purchase a headband with animal ears for your toddler to wear with a matching animal tee. Enhance character-printed shirts by painting her face or arranging her hair to look like the character.

Pin-ons
-
Let your toddler choose some toys or Halloween decorations to pin onto a T-shirt. Pin some farm animal toys onto a shirt and place a straw hat on the toddler to make a farmer costume. To make a fisherman ensemble, pin some plastic or felt fish shapes onto a T-shirt, and complete the look by having the child carry a toy fishing pole. Some toddlers will want to have toy spiders or other creepy creatures pinned all over their T-shirt.
Kid-Created
-
Help your toddler create her own Halloween T-shirt. She can press her painted handprints in various positions. After the paint dries, use a permanent marker to draw Halloween animal or people features onto the handprints. Toddlers can also press painted cookie cutter shapes on a shirt to create ghosts, pumpkins, witches or black cats. Consider tracing a Halloween coloring pattern onto a light-colored shirt. After your toddler colors the picture with crayons, place a piece of plain paper or a brown paper bag over the picture and press gently to heat set the crayon.
