Birthday Ideas for Scooby Doo & Batman
Scooby Doo and Batman are two very different characters that have retained their popularity over the years. Batman even guest starred on a few episodes of Scooby Doo. Scooby Doo Party Preparation
-
Purchase or design Scooby Doo invitations on your computer. Use images from the show, such as the Mystery Machine. Integrate catch phrases such as "Zoinks!" into the messages. Decorate the party using Halloween decorations to fit in with the supernatural feel of the show. Use brown, yellow and blue decorations to match Scooby's color scheme. Stuffed dolls and posters from the show make excellent decorations and gifts for the party attendees. Prepare food appropriate for the show, such as "Scooby Snacks." Use snack crackers to represent these treats. Bake a cake in the shape of Scooby Doo or even in the shape of a bone. Serve the food in clean dog dishes.
Scooby Doo Party Activities
-
Choose a wide range of appropriate games and activities for the party. "Pin the Bone in Scooby's Mouth" is a game where players attempt to attach a bone-shaped piece of paper to a full-sized paper decoration of Scooby Doo. Players are blindfolded and spun around to play.
"Scooby, Scooby Where's Your Bone" is a game appropriate for younger children. Pick one player to sit in a chair with their back to everybody else. Place a small doggy bone underneath the chair. Pick one of the party goers to grab the bone and sit back down. The child in the chair must pick the guest who took the bone.
Another activity idea is a scavenger hunt. Hide various Scooby Doo toys and objects around the house for the kids to find. Play this game with teams or individually.

Batman Party Preparation
-
Cut panels from old Batman comics and white out the word bubbles. Write down your invitation message in the word puzzles. Make several copies of this panel and mail the copies to party guests. Alternatively, use black construction paper to make small black bats as invitations. Encourage the children to come to the party in costume. Use black party decorations, such as black balloons and streamers. Hang black fabric on your walls to give your house a darker feel. Hang rubber bats from the ceiling. Bake bat-shaped cookies as treats for the party. Cook pigs in the blankets but refer to them as "Bats in a Blanket." Serve bat-shaped sandwiches, cakes and even pizzas.
Batman Party Activities
-
Play "Bat Bat Joker" with younger kids. This is a variation of "Duck Duck Goose" with players saying "Bat" and "Joker" instead. Another game appropriate for younger children is "Mr. Freeze Tag." One kid is picked to be the character Mr. Freeze. If kids are tagged by Mr. Freeze, they must freeze in place until they are tagged by another player. There are also many Batman video games the kids may enjoy playing. Play DVDs of the movies and episodes during the party. This is perfect for when kids want to take a break from party activities.
Batman and Scooby Doo Combo Party
-
Create invitations that combine both Batman and Scooby Doo images. For example, create a scene where the Mystery Machine is driving at night toward the Bat Signal in the sky.
Split the house into two sections: the Batman section and the Scooby section. Use dark decorations in the Batman section and brown and green decorations in the Scooby sections. Hang posters of Batman and Scooby Doo throughout the house. Use cartoon images of Batman instead of images from the live action movie. This unifies the party decoration scheme.
Play games like "Scooby, Where's the Bat?" Hide small rubber bats throughout the house. The kids look for the bats while pretending to be characters from Scooby Doo and Batman.
Serve hot dogs, "bats in a blanket," colored juice drinks and flavored pretzels. Make one flavored pretzel "Scooby Snacks" and the other "Bat Food."
