Apple Outline Crafts
Apple outlines are a main feature of many kitchen or classroom decorations. Outlines of apples can be used to create a variety of colorful, themed crafts. Wooden, flexible foam or real apples can be utilized to make crafts to entertain young children or your friends when these crafts are given as gifts.

Apple Mobile
-
You can make a mobile using paper apple outlines. Cut an apple in half, and trace the outline on to a piece of sturdy tan construction paper once the apple has dried. The outline is used to make one or two more exact outlines. The outlines should be colored to look like the interior of the apple. Fold the outlines in half, and cut the top half of the fold line on one of the apples and the bottom half of the other apples. Fit the apples together by matching up their cuts. Punch a hole in the top of the three dimensional apple, and hang it from a string. Make several more, and attach them to a metal coat hanger to form a mobile.
Apple Clock
-
Apple clocks are an easy decoration for friends or family who collect apple decorations. A 1-in. thick wooden circle is used as the base of this clock. Draw an apple outline on to the board, including the stem. A jigsaw is carefully used to cut out the outline. Make sure to wear safety glasses to prevent getting sawdust in your eyes. Paint the main body of the outline red and the stem green using acrylic paint. Buy an inexpensive clock, and hot glue it securely into a hole in the center of the apple. Add a mounting bracket to the back of the apple so it can be hung on the wall.

Apple Wreath
-
A metal or wooden wreath base can be used to make a colorful apple decoration. Stained glass or wooden outlines can be used. You can create your own wooden outlines using an apple half, a thin wooden board and a jigsaw. Paint the wooden outline red with acrylic paint, and seal it with polyurethane. Glue the outlines randomly around a wooden wreath base. For stained glass, you may need to buy the unpainted outline. Stained glass paint is used to color these outlines. The outlines are glued around a wire wreath base using hot glue. A mounting bracket is added to both wreath bases so the wreath can be hung on a door.
Apple Prints
-
Kids can have a great time using apple halves to make pictures. Large pieces of white construction paper should be rolled out on the floor. Kids can paint trees on to the construction paper with brown and green acrylic paint. Lay down a drop cloth to prevent damage to your carpet. Cut an apple in half, and lay out a bowl filled with red tempura paint. Kids can dip the apple halves into the paint and press them on to the tree limbs. Once the paint has dried, you can hang the trees on a wall to make your own orchard.
