Ideas for What to Send Your Ex As a Wedding Present
An ex is called an ex for a reason. The two you are no longer together. However, if your ex is getting married you may feel an urge to send him a wedding present. While some people would say you are crazy, others might think the gesture is sweet, especially if you received a wedding announcement. Since you know your ex pretty well, it shouldn't be hard to find a really good present.

Money
-
Money is a good gift idea, because the couple can buy any gift they want and it won't be a sentimental reminder of you. If you buy a specific gift that goes in the home, like a picture frame, or crystal candleholder, your ex's new bride might see it as a constant reminder of you. Another idea is to buy them a gift card from the stores they are registered at. Just be warned that it might make your ex's new spouse a bit uncomfortable that you were scouring their wedding registry.
Greeting Card
-
A wedding card congratulating the couple may not seem like much of a gift, but it may mean more than you might think. For one, the card should be addressed to both parties. The card will let the couple know you are thinking of them and that you care about their happiness. A card is simple, and will not require a thank-you note written by an uncomfortable newlywed.

Flowers and WIne
-
If your former girlfriend is getting married, you might consider sending flowers. Flowers like cards, show that you care in a friendly way. Don't send roses, which might appear to show an ongoing passion; instead, choose wildflowers with a decorative vase. For you ex boyfriend who's getting married, consider sending him a bottle of wine or a case of his favorite beer to share with the boys before the wedding.
Memberships
-
If you really want to wish the couple well and give them some activities to do during their first year of marriage, then consider buying a membership to a local museum or symphony. You run the risk that every time they go they may think of you, but the gift is classy and not too personal.
Raunchy Gifts
-
Plenty of gifts are on the market that many would consider raunchy and inappropriate. However, if for some reason you want to send a wedding present to an ex that you simply cannot stand, then one of these gifts might suffice. Popular choices include a pair of sexy underwear, a love note reminding your ex how much you don't love him, and giving your ex back something that he gave you. Think carefully before sending one of these gifts. It would be much better not to not send a gift at all than to send something hateful.
