Bereavement Memorial Gifts
After the loss of a loved one, nothing can take away the pain. Yet showing support for those left behind is one way to help them begin the healing process. Demonstrate how much you care by giving a bereavement gift that memorializes the deceased. Whether you describe the person's impact in a poem or donate to a charity in her honor, personalized memorial gifts will help her memory live on.

Picture Frame
-
When a loved one is gone, it's often hard for those left behind to adjust to not seeing that person every day. Help ease this pain by giving a framed memorial picture of the deceased. Look back through your times together to find a photo capturing one of your favorite memories, or choose a picture that showcases one of the person's characteristic expressions. Place it in a frame adorned with doves, flowers or the person's favorite color. Additionally, many online retailers can personalize a frame with the loved one's name (see Resources).
Donation
-
Keep your loved one's memory alive by making a donation to a charity in her name. Think about what the person cared for and was passionate about in life. For animal lovers, consider donating to the local animal shelter. Give to a library in honor of a person who enjoyed reading. You can also donate to fight back against whatever took her life. For example, if the person died from cancer, donate to an organization searching for the cure.

Poem or Card
-
Express how much you cared about the deceased by writing a poem. Capture your favorite times together or what you learned from him. Try to organize these thoughts in a classic poem format, such as an ABAB rhyme scheme or a short haiku. If you're not confident enough to write a poem, draft a thoughtful letter about why you cared so much about the deceased. Think of details that made the person special, such as a certain smile he gave to cheer you up or how he was always a sincere listener.
Engraving
-
Help the deceased's memory live on with a memento engraved in her honor. Many online retailers offer items that can be personalized, including necklace pendants, crosses and ornaments (see Resources). Give a stone engraved with the person's name and sentiments that can be placed in a flower garden. Consider donating a bench to a local park with the person's name engraved on it, or planting a tree along with a personalized plaque in her honor.
