Free Bible Story Craft Projects
It is easy to create crafts with a biblical theme for little to no money using recyclables and objects that are destined for the trash can. Making Bible crafts is a way to get actively involved in a Bible story and they help bring ancient tales to life. Bible crafts help to keep the attention of children and provide them with a physical object that reminds them of the Bible story.

Joseph's Coat
-
No need for fancy fabric to make Joseph's coat of many colors that had his brothers so jealous in the biblical tale. If you do have old clothing that you're planning on throwing out, cut them up into pieces and find a simple coat pattern online. You can use old dish cloths as well as other bits of rags to create a coat of many colors for free. If you can't find cloth, consider using paper grocery bags. The paper is strong enough and flexible enough to make a coat. Use water colors or food dye to paint on different colors and either sew or staple the pieces together.
Noah's Ark
-
Of course, making an exact replica of Noah's Ark would mean an ark of biblical proportions and tons of wood. Instead, take used ice cream sticks that you collect over a period of time and use them to fashion a small model of the ark. Glue the sticks together with wood glue and create the ark. Animals can be made out of the wire ties used to close refuse bags. Fashion the wire into animal shapes and have the animals peering out of the ark's windows. You can also make a wire Noah and use cotton wool to make his legendary beard.

Bible Bookmarks
-
Create two bookmarks, one for the Old Testament and one for the New Testament. The bookmarks can be made from old pieces of cardboard. Using old magazines, make a collage of an image that represents the Old and New Testaments. It can be an image from a favorite tale, or a character. For example, a picture of Jesus for the New Testament and one of Abraham for the Old Testament. Just use your imagination and some biblical knowledge to make your creation.
Ten Commandments
-
A craft project involving the Ten Commandments can be more than just a fun activity, it can also help young people to learn exactly what the commandments are. While the original commandments were written on stone tablets, a much lighter version can be made with used cereal boxes. Cover two cereal boxes in brown paper and then write five of the commandments on each box. Glue the boxes together and use these Ten Commandments in a reenactment of Moses's anger upon returning to the People of Israel and finding that they are worshiping idols. The cereal boxes will split apart easily and give life to a demonstration of this biblical story.
