Bring the concert to your office party.

No company party can be a success without plenty of exciting entertainment options for everyone. Whether you choose live performers or use activities from a box, make your company party the best yet with entertainment as great as your coworkers.

  1. Music

    • Hire a rock band for an outdoor company party.

Hire a local band to provide music. Choose a popular genre that most people will like and check that the band is capable of playing most popular songs in case guests want to make a request. Or hire a disc jockey to spin your guests' favorite music all night. If your company party is more low-key, consider a pianist with an accompanying singer or a jazz ensemble. You could also let the guests provide their own musical entertainment; rent a karaoke machine with thousands of songs and let everyone sing the night away.

    Performers

    • Find out how your company will perform next quarter.

Hire as many performers as possible to give your company party's entertainment plenty of variety. Set up a stage area and hire a comedian to perform. You could also recruit a magician's services or set up booths and hire a fortune teller, psychic or palm/tarot card reader. If your employees enjoy drama, hire a local theater troupe to put on a murder mystery play; for comedy, find an improv troupe. For low budgets, provide the performance yourselves with a funny talent show. Or hire a professional dealer to deal poker and blackjack.

    Team Activities

    • Send your coworkers on a treasure hunt.

Before the party, create a Random Information Sheet for each attendee to fill out. At the party, split employees into teams and play Coworker Trivia. You could also use this information to play "Company Feud" (instead of "Family Feud"). Devise questions like "Name a reason you might be late for work" or "Where is a member of the accounting department most likely to eat lunch?" Or make up clues before the party and send teams on a scavenger hunt throughout the building. Award an extra vacation day to each member of the winning team.

    Other Entertainment

    • Let female employees give makeovers to their male coworkers.

Tell each employee to bring a small gift to the party and hold a gift exchange. You could also sell raffle tickets and give away door prizes every 15 minutes, such as local restaurant gift cards. If your party is outdoors, play paintball or rent sumo wrestler costumes and let employees go at it. Hang a pinata from the ceiling and give every employee a chance to crack it. Or hold a silly awards ceremony with miniature trophies. Award a trophy to each employee for things like "Usually On Time" or "Worst Parker."
