Fairy Toys & Gifts

Fairy gifts can be small or life-sized.

For some, there is no more magical or fascinating creature than the fairy. Children and adults are often amused and charmed by paraphernalia associated with these tiny, delicate creatures. If there is a special person in your life -- possibly a child -- who would appreciate a fairy gift or toy, you have many from which to choose. Make sure that if the recipient is very young, the item has no breakable parts that could be easily removed and swallowed.

  1. Stuffed Toys

    • For the infant or child recipient, a stuffed toy in the form of a fairy is an appropriate gift. If you are especially crafty, or short on funds, it is a fairly easy gift to make yourself. Visit a craft store and purchase an undecorated cloth doll body. Draw or paint wings, long ears and a magical wand on the item. For a few extra dollars, purchase wings or fairy clothing to dress up your gift.

    Figurines

    • Fairy figurines are often coveted by both children and adult collectors -- purchase, or make a few from clay, to add to your recipient's collection. Select the typical girl fairies, but don't forget about family fairies -- mothers, fathers and even brothers. Some figurines are of fairy pets, such as small cats or dogs with wings attached. Give your recipient a few of these items to round out her collection.

    Dollhouses

    • One of the newer and more intriguing options related to fairies are special fairy dollhouses. Often, they are tiny homes constructed of a natural materials such as bark, moss and leaves, or made to look like they are. Weatherproofed, they are left out in the open in hopes that a fairy will come visit them -- or even better, take up permanent residence.

    Costumes

    • Playing dress up is a time-honored activity, and there may be no better way than to do it than with fairy costumes. Surprise your gift recipient with fake wings, wands and fairy makeup, such as glitter or brightly colored eyeshadow. This will provide hours of enjoyment and play-acting for the recipient. If you are good with crafts, make wings and costumes yourself using the recipient's favorite colors.

    Books

    • Find one of numerous books on fairies to present to your recipient. They can be about fairy history, favorite fairy activities or even fairy recipes. Learn what foods fairies like best, and which to leave out so that they will visit your home or garden.
