Companies seek to employ people that have already established themselves with a few years of experience. The demand for experienced recruiters is high and the pay can be good for those at the top.

New-Entry Salary

Big companies settle for nothing less than 8 to 10 years of experience in the field. These companies pay the big bucks, but you might not have the required experience. As a start-up corporate recruiter working for smaller companies, expect to make anywhere from $30,000 to $35,000. These companies might not pay high, but are a good stepping-stone for your career. Once you have a few years of experience under your belt, you can move on to greater things.

Pay for Jobs with Extra Responsibilities

  • A way to rack up experience as a corporate recruiter while maintaining a respectable income is to find a job that has extra responsibilities. Small and medium companies might not have the workload that a big company offers for a recruiter. You might be required to take up additional tasks such as an administrative or managerial position. This can result in a bigger income, as you are essentially doing two or more jobs at once.

Average Salary

  • The average salary you can expect as an experienced recruiter working for a big company is from $75,000 to $85,000 a year. This usually implies a solid experience in the field and big job responsibilities. You are most likely working for a company that employs hundreds if not thousands of workers and must be able to relate to many different occupations.

High End Salaries

  • As a high-end corporate recruiter, you can make over $150,000 a year with some positions getting close to $250,000. These positions are filled by highly experienced recruiters with expert knowledge of business management, psychology and interpersonal skills. Apart from requiring a vast experience and expert skills, a high-end corporate recruiter position requires a bachelor's degree as minimum education.
