5th Grade Graduation Ideas for the Yearbook
Today's typical elementary school spans kindergarten through fifth grade. For students graduating from elementary school and preparing for middle school, yearbook coverage that reflects this big educational life change is important. You can mark the fifth grade graduation in the yearbook so that students will remember this time for the rest of their lives.

Parent Ads
-
Parent ads lend a nice addition to an elementary school yearbook. The ads can be purchased for a small fee, which can help cover the costs of printing the yearbook. Or, a free ad can be provided to each family with additional ads requiring a small fee. The ads can include items like baby pictures, favorite family photos or a few words telling the graduates how proud the families are of them. One example: "We are so proud of how well you are doing in school. Congratulations on graduating from fifth grade, Brandon. Love, Mom and Dad."
Quotes and Sayings
-
Some schools may choose to have a yearbook for the entire school with a small section devoted to the fifth grade graduation, and other schools will have a book focused exclusively on the graduates. If the graduation pages are within a larger book, include quotes and sayings on the pages where fifth graders appear. Quotes and sayings can be from famous people throughout history, teachers, students and parents. An example of a strong quote is a popular saying by one of the fifth grade teachers. For example, if Mrs. Smith always says, "You can achieve anything if you only try," then include that quote on one of the pages.

Pictures
-
In addition to the typical headshots of the class members and a picture of the entire class together, include a special section that has pictures of each student. For example, include a baby picture, the first-day-of-school picture and fifth grade picture all in a row. Another nice feature is a page or two of pictures in a collage format. This would include different moments from the fifth grade year, such as field trips, class presentations, science fair projects, field day and sports events.
Remember When
-
A page devoted to remembering special moments from the school career is a nice memory to refer back to at a later date. These moments can be compiled from the student's teachers, parents and classmates. Allow each student to gather three memories from other people to place in the book. It is best to allow the student to choose so that nothing embarrassing slips into the mix. What embarrasses one student may not embarrass another, so let the student choose.
