Low Cost Romantic Ideas
During the course of a relationship, the once bright spark that lit up your lives eventually fizzles out as reality sets in. Between work, school and the overall hustle and bustle of life, it becomes difficult to make time for one another. No matter how busy you are, however, it is important to keep your relationship alive. Even if you're on a budget, there are plenty of inexpensive ways to be romantic with your partner.
-
Treat Your Lover to a Date
-
Reconnect with your lover by treating her like you did on your first date. No matter how inexpensive, taking your partner on a date allows the two of you to forget daily stresses and enjoy the company of one another. Make a couple sandwiches, pack a few pieces of fruit and bottled water and head out to your local park. Lay out a blanket and have a picnic while people-watching or feeding the ducks. Camp in your backyard beneath the stars. There is no television or computer to interrupt your romantic evening. Cuddle together in a sleeping bag while you drift off to sleep.
If nature is not your thing, dress in your best outfits and visit your local diner. Even if it's an inexpensive venue, you'll look and feel your best, which allows for a deep connection. You could also host a date in your living room, complete with candles, a home cooked meal and romantic music.
A thoughtful alternative is to relive your first date. Bring flowers and take your partner to the place where you first dated. Talk about what you thought of one another and the deciding factor in a second date.
Communicate
-
An hour discussion will help the two of you bond again. Between work, children and financial burdens, it becomes difficult to stop and talk to each other once in awhile -- not about work, but about your feelings for each other. Discuss your goals, dreams, future, why you love one another and things you need to improve. Talking will reignite that emotional spark you once shared.
Visit your local cafe and order a small breakfast. Bring two notepads and pens and while you eat, write about your love for each other. After an hour or so, exchange papers and read them. This provides the two of you with time to ask questions, talk to one another and reconnect over the reasons you're together in the first place.

Make Memories
-
Make memories together and put together a scrapbook to look back on. Grab a camera and head to your local clothing store. Go your separate ways and pick out an outfit for each other. It may be silly, glamorous or out-of-date. Exchange outfits and go into the dressing room. Take photos of one another in the outfits to keep as a memory.
Go to a department store with the goal of picking out the most romantic gift possible. Your spending limit is $10. When purchasing an item, think about your partner's interests and passions. You'll really have to think back to what you know about your partner in order to choose a suitable gift.
Have a Theme Night
-
Once a month, have a theme night. Choose a theme at the beginning of the month, set a date and get creative. For example, if you choose "Mexico" as your theme, make burritos or enchiladas for dinner, purchase a pinata and rent movies in Spanish. Even if you don't understand Spanish, you'll be able to grasp the gist of the storyline if you pay attention.
