Initial Setup
-
When turning on your Verizon Droid Incredible for the first time, you will be guided through a tutorial to help you set up things such as language, email accounts and social networks. The setup begins with choosing your desired language. Choose the language you want to use on your phone and press "Next." Complete the short tutorial on learning how to use the onscreen keyboard. Choose how you want your phone to connect to the Internet, such as via Wi-Fi, then choose "Next." This will allow you to search for a nearby Wi-Fi network. You need the log-in credentials for the selected Wi-Fi network to connect to. Choose whether or not you want to use Google's location service. This is required for certain features to function, such as the weather and GPS applications. If you do not wish Google to collect information about your location, clear the checkbox and tap "Next." The next screen you will see is the setup accounts screen. Follow the onscreen instructions for entering the login credentials for the types of accounts you want to set up. This is where you will set up email and social networks. Tap "Next" to complete the tutorial and initial setup.
Making a Call
-
Making a call on the Verizon Droid Incredible is easy. Press the "Home" button on your phone to make sure you are beginning from the home screen. The "Home" button looks like a picture of a little house. Tap the "Phone" button in the bottom-middle of the screen. Start typing the first few numbers of the phone number or the first few letters of the contact name. The top panel will display any matching entries in your contact list. If the number is not stored in your contact list, simply finish dialing the phone number. Tap "Call" to begin the phone call. When finished with the call, press "End call."

Personalizing
-
The Verizon Droid Incredible has several options available for personalization. To change the ringtone to something of your choice, press the "Home" button and then the "Menu" button. Tap "Settings." Choose "Personalization" to see the option for "Default Ringtone." A selection screen will open up and allow you to choose from a list of preloaded ringtones. Tap on each one to hear a preview of it. When satisfied, tap the selected ringtone and tap "OK."
Changing your wallpaper is another way to personalize your phone. You can choose a preloaded image or live wallpaper from the phone or select your own photo. To change your wallpaper, press the "Home" button and then tap "Menu." Tap "Wallpaper." You will have a small pop-up screen, prompting you to choose a live wallpaper, personal photo or a preset wallpaper. Live wallpapers are animated wallpapers and may slow the phone down and drain the battery quicker.
Finger Gestures
-
The Verizon Droid Incredible is operated completely with a touch screen. The screen interacts with finger gestures, rather than a stylus. There are a few different finger gesture motions that will cause different reactions from the screen. One finger tap is used when you want to type using the keyboard or select items on the screen, such as an application or icon. One finger tap is also used to press onscreen buttons. A press and hold finger tap is used to open available options for an item. A swipe or slide motion, which is when you quickly drag your finger in a vertical or horizontal motion, can be used to scroll between different screens or menu options. A tap and drag motion is used for things such as deleting items from your screen. Items can be dragged into the trash can to be deleted. A pinch motion can be used in the Internet browser or in your photo media gallery to zoom in or out. Pinching fingers together will zoom in and pinching fingers outward will zoom out.
