Dance Recital Gift Ideas for a 13 Year Old

Save

Dance recitals are a big deal for kids who take dance lessons. When the 13-year-old dancer in your life will be showing her skills at a dance recital, consider bringing a gift to congratulate her on her hard work and accomplishments. Lots of gifts are appropriate for a dance recital, from things that most 13-year-olds would enjoy, to something that is specific to a dancer.

Flowers

  • It has long been traditional to bring flowers to a performance as a gift of congratulations. Consider bringing a bouquet of colorful flowers, such as hot pink roses or bright yellow sunflowers. She can place the flowers in a vase and enjoy them for the next several days. If you would prefer a gift that will last longer, consider choosing a potted orchid. Give her a book with instructions as to how to care for an orchid along with the plant.

Dance Clothing

  • Dancers need specific types of clothing when they practice, so consider choosing something that the dancer can wear to either perform or practice. Freedom of movement is important to a dancer, so go with a clothing item that is not restrictive. Consider a new leotard or a pair of stretchy pants with a tight-fitting top. You could also choose sweatpants and a sweatshirt that the dancer can wear to and from lessons and performances during cold weather.

Tote Bag

  • Dancers have to carry around items when they go to dance classes, such as shoes, music CDs, athletic tape, tutus and other items. Consider choosing a monogrammed tote bag that the recipient can use for her dance items. Choose a simple canvas bag and have it personalized with the recipient's initials. You could also have something else embroidered onto the bag that matches with the dancer's favorite dance genre, such as a ballet slipper, a tutu or a tap shoe.

Spa Gift Card

  • Dancing can be hard on a person's body, and although 13-year-olds have young, tough muscles, they can still get sore from all of the wear put on them. Consider choosing a gift certificate to a local spa so that the dancer can go have a massage and get all of those aching muscles back in shape. The dancer could also have other treatments she might like, such as a facial or a pedicure.
