Charity Team-Building Ideas for Kids
Team-building ideas for charity can help improve kids' team dynamics while they give back to the community. The kids not only start working together to reach a common goal, like crafting a teddy bear or baking cookies, but they also brighten the lives of people in need.

Teddy Bear Games
-
As a team-building event, children can make teddy bears or stuffed animals for children's charities. The event can be organized around a competition in which the teams play various games against each other. For example, they might have a three-legged race or relay. The teams win items to build their stuffed animals, like plain T-shirts, decorating materials and stuffing, as they place in the games. When the stuffed animals are complete, they are given to children's hospitals or charities that accept toys.
Sweet Donations
-
Another team activity involves making making sweets, such as cakes and cookies, for donation. The teams work together to design and create their own baked goods, even putting together their own recipes. When the cakes or cookies are finished, the children decorate them so they represent their team, perhaps using school colors on the cookies or putting the school mascot on the cake. The sweets are donated to charities or sold to raise money for charities.

Gift Baskets
-
Children can create gift baskets or boxes for children's charities. This requires the participation of a store providing bargains for the charities; the team or teams are provided some money for the event. The teams pick out items for needy children based on the bargain prices offered by the store and pay with the money provided. They put together gift baskets from the items selected along with a message for the recipient.
Room Makeover
-
For older kids, a room makeover team-building event is an option. Families in need who can't afford to buy the furniture or decorations for a child's room are given a room makeover. The needy children tell the teams of about eight or 10 kids what they want in their rooms. The teams are given a certain amount of money to spend on their room makeover ideas. Each team works together to create a design based on the measurements of the room and the budget, and then create an attractive and functional personal space for the child in need.
