HP 2015 Specs
In 2006, Hewlett-Packard Co. -- a technology company known for its personal computers and peripheral equipment -- released a series of business-oriented printers called the P2015. It falls under the LaserJet nameplate, which comprises HP's dry electrophotographic laser printers. There are four entries of the HP P2015 series: the original P2015, P2015d, P2015dn and P2015x.

Each HP LaserJet P2015 has a printing speed of up to 27 pages per minute in black ink. The printer also has a printing quality of up to 1,200 by 1,200 dots per ink. The types of media the P2015 accepts include plain paper, envelopes, labels, index cards and transparencies, with a size range of 3-by-5 inches to 8.5-by-14 inches. The regular HP P2015 is the only member of the P2015 series that does its duplex printing -- that is, printing on both sides of the medium -- in manual mode; the other three printers have automatic duplex printing.

Each HP LaserJet P2015 has an input tray that has a standard input capacity of 250 sheets of paper, or 10 envelopes. HP, however, notes that it has a maximum input capacity of 550 sheets. Output capacity is rated at up to 150 sheets. The HP P2015x has an additional 250-sheet input tray which accommodates a media size range of 5.8-by-8.3 inches to 8.5-by-14 inches. Thus the P2015x is the only one of the P2015 series that has two standard paper trays.

Memory and Duty Cycle

Each HP P2015 printer has 32MB of internal memory. According to HP, each P2015 LaserJet has a peak monthly duty cycle of 15,000 single-sided pages. The monthly duty cycle refers to the maximum amount of media that the printer can produce without malfunctioning, or breaking down. Despite the listed maximum duty cycle, HP recommends that you use the HP P2015 to print between 740 and 3,000 pages per month to keep it in the best shape.

The regular P2015 is the smallest of the P2015 printers with a 13.8-inch width, 17.7-inch depth and 10.1-inch height at a weight of 22.7 lbs. The P2015d and P2105dn have the same dimensions but are heavier at 24.3 lbs. The P2015x is the largest entry, since it has a taller, 13.5-inch height and a 31.1-lb. weight. The P2015 and P2015d have a USB 2.0 port, while the P2015dn and P2015x have an additional HP Jetdirect Fast Ethernet-embedded print server.
