Tadpoles are amphibians that hatch from frog eggs and grow into frogs. They range in size for one-eighth of an inch to 3 inches. Many people like to grow frogs from eggs or tadpoles. For that to happen, the tadpoles must have a proper habitat with clean water that does not contain chlorine. A proper diet ensures that tadpoles will grow up into healthy frogs.

Lettuce and Spinach

Both lettuce and spinach provide good food sources for tadpoles. Boil the lettuce and spinach and then drain the water. Chop up and place them on a tray to freeze them. When you're ready, tear off small pieces to feed your tadpoles. Feed the tadpoles twice a day on a regular schedule. Do not overfeed them. Place only enough food for them to eat in one hour in their habitat. Remove any uneaten lettuce and spinach as soon as possible to keep the water clean. Hard-boil the egg yolk. It serves as a protein supplement for tadpoles. Feed it to them twice a week on a regular schedule, making sure the tadpoles receive the yolk in flakes. You will feed the tadpoles this food and the other listed items for the six to nine weeks necessary to make the transformation to a frog. The diet will change considerably when your tadpole grows up.
