Qualities in a Good Leader
If you are a leader, you are able to get others to willingly follow you. There are leaders in all aspects of life, starting from elementary school through every career. Some people are born leaders and seem to naturally know what it takes to be one. Others need to learn what it takes to be a good leader. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses and putting them together with self-confidence and strong values are a good start to becoming a good leader.

Trustworthy
-
Many times, people look upon a leader to help them through a rough patch, either at the workplace or in a personal matter. If you expect to be seen as a leader, one of the most important characteristics to have is being trustworthy. A leader instills a sense of honesty to the people being led. If as a leader you're not trustworthy, you will receive no respect.
Confidence
-
As a leader, you needs to be confident in your actions and decisions. This confidence will, in turn, give confidence to those who are looking toward you for guidance. Confidence means being sure of your decisions and not wavering when someone questions your choices.

Enthusiasm
-
If you're enthusiastic about your work, others can see that you are genuine. People who are leaders need to be a source of inspiration by showing their enthusiasm and being willing to be involved. You can motivate using positive energy and a positive commitment to a project or a cause.
Open to Change
-
Leaders need to know that change is a part of life and that nothing will improve by staying the same. As a leader, you need to be open to new ideas and approaches and objectively see what is best for the organization. If a new approach is brought to your attention and it's better than what's being used, a true leader does not let pride keep her from changing how things are done simply because the idea comes from someone else.
