Bat Finger Puppet Crafts
Bats are flying mammals that are often featured in horror films or at Halloween. Teach children about bats by infusing finger puppet craft projects into lesson plans. Use different methods to create bat finger puppets using simple craft materials. Use the bat finger puppets as a toy or in a finger puppet performance.

Glove Bat Finger Puppets
-
Turn an old black winter glove into a bat finger puppet. Cut off the finger of an old black glove. If the material is likely to fray, make a few quick stitches around the bottom or fold it under and secure it with tape so it doesn't fray. Cut bat wings out of black card stock and glue it to the back of glove's finger. Glue googly eyes or sew on white beads to finish the bat finger puppet. You can use all the fingers on the gloves to create bat finger puppets to give out to friends.
Paper Bat Finger Puppets
-
Cut out a bat shape out of black construction paper. Punch two holes at the bottom of the bat for fingers to fit through. The bat will slip onto two fingers and the fingers will resemble feet. Add construction paper black wings. Glue a large black ponpom to the bat cutout and add googly eyes. You can also add small white construction paper fangs to the ponpom. To add depth to your finger puppet, fold the wings in an accordion fashion.

Felt Bat Finger Puppet
-
Wrap a piece of black felt around your finger and secure with glue or sew it closed with a few stitches. Add felt wings to the back side of the puppet. Cut out white felt eyes and add a black dot to each eye. Use white felt or a couple of dots of white paint to create fangs for the bat.
Craft Foam Bat Finger Puppet
-
Cut a bat shape out of black craft foam to make a finger puppet. Use tempera paint or to create eyes and two white fangs. Add a strip of black craft foam to the backside of the bat. The foam strip should be glued on the two ends and have some slack in the middle so that a finger can fit through it.
