Forty-Fifth Class Reunion Ideas
It's been 45 years since you all graduated together, and it's time to get together for another reunion. Although it's inevitable that all of your former classmates have changed and evolved over the years, focus your 45th class reunion on the memories you've shared and the bond that will always exist.

Planning
-
Form a committee a year in advance to book a venue, locate class members, and reserve caterers and entertainment. Consider booking a professional photographer or videographer to capture your reunion memories. Mail invitations and set up a reunion website and include a form for attendees to RSVP online.
Venue
-
An outdoor setting is refreshing and picturesque. Choose a venue that would suit most people, especially if you have former classmates with disabilities. Consider the time of year; for example, many people would prefer an outdoor venue in springtime and a cozy indoor setting in cool weather. For outdoor settings, reserve an open-air pavilion or space in a local park. Or, ask former classmates with a large plot of land if they'd like to host the reunion. For an indoor venue, consider a convention center or a hotel's meeting room. If you have a small class, consider renting a large loft apartment for the evening. To save money, reserve space at a restaurant; it may be cheaper than other venues.

Style and Theme
-
A formal event can give your 45th reunion a sophisticated touch. Poll your former classmates to see what kind of style and theme they'd enjoy most. Offer a black-tie event or a T-shirt-and-jeans dress code. For more elegant affairs, hire waiters to serve hors d'oeuvres and champagne; for lower-key events, stick to finger foods and soft drinks. Raise your ticket price depending on the cost of decorations and refreshments.
Consider having a reunion theme. Tell guests to dress in outfits from the year of your graduation or choose another decade, such as 1980s. Or, instruct attendees to wear couple's costumes. Married couples can dress up as a famous twosome. Get marital status before the event and pair up singles so they can coordinate costumes.
Activities
-
Karaoke helps reunion attendees break the ice. Rent karaoke equipment and have guests sing songs from your school years. Or, play high school-themed games, such as Truth or Dare or Spin the Bottle; instead of kissing, have guests dance together to a song of the other guests' choice. Hold a guest trivia game. Brainstorm with your committee before the reunion to formulate questions, such as "Who was always tardy to algebra in 10th grade?" Create funny awards and give out small prizes for the winners, such as "Most Marriages" or "Still Mostly the Same."
