Minority Scholarships for Business Majors

Several national organizations offer scholarship programs to minority students seeking degrees related to business. Some scholarship programs are open to applicants from several minority populations. Other scholarship programs are limited to applicants who belong to a specific ethnic minority.

  1. Scholarships for Multiple Minority Populations

    • Many organizations offer business scholarships which are open to several ethnic minorities. For example, the American Institute of CPAs offers the $3,000 AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students to all minority students. The American Marketing Association Foundation offers $1,000 Valuing Diversity Ph.D. Scholarships to African American, Hispanic American, or Native American doctoral students. The KPMG Foundation offers the $10,000 Minority Accounting Doctoral Scholarships to Native Americans, African Americans and Hispanics. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada offers the $5,000 Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship to African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Native Alaskans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders and Asians. J.P. Morgan offers the Launching Leaders MBA Scholarship to African American, Hispanic and Native American students.

    Scholarships for African Americans

    • Some organizations offer scholarships limited to African American business students. For example, the National Black MBA Association offers scholarships, ranging in value from $1,000 to $10,000, to association members pursuing a master's in business administration. The National Association of Black Accountants offers between 40 and 70 scholarships each year to NABA members studying at both the undergraduate and graduate level. NABA scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $10,000.

    Scholarships for Hispanic and Latino Students

    • Some scholarship programs are limited to Hispanic and Latino students. For example, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs offers annual scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $10,000. To be eligible, an applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting also offers scholarships of between $1,500 and $10,000 to Latino and Hispanic business students.

    Scholarships for Native Americans

    • Some business scholarships support students of Native American heritage. One is the Native American Finance Officers Association, which offers scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees related to business and finance. Another organization that offers business scholarships to Native American students is the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. NCAIED Scholarships are available to junior and senior undergraduates, as well as to graduate students.
