Sporty Couples Halloween Costume Ideas

Couples costumes are a fun way to celebrate Halloween with your significant other. They are sure to be crowd pleasers at costume parties and make for great photo shoot opportunities. Athletic couples can have loads of fun planning a costume that looks great and shows their love of sports. All of the sports costumes can be zombified for even more Halloween excitement.

Famous Sports Players

Dress up as your favorite players. How about Anna Kournikova and Rafael Nadal? Wear jerseys with their names on them, tennis outfits and wigs. Another idea is to choose a sport and a decade -- for example, baseball in the 1950s or basketball in the 1960s. Then find a vintage-looking uniform and pretend to be a famous player from that decade. If you decide to be a 1960s basketball couple make it even more fun with afro wigs, colorful sunglasses and, to be really goofy, add big fake teeth.

Football Star and Cheerleader

Relive the past and be the classic popular and sporty couple from high school. If you don't still have your old football or cheerleading uniform hiding in the attic or it simply doesn't fit anymore, buy one at a costume shop or Halloween store. Make sure to carry accessories like a helmet, pompoms and a cheerleading megaphone.

Soccer Player and Referee

This costume is fun no matter who plays the player and who plays the referee. Boys can wear a simple soccer uniform and make it authentic by dirtying it up a little before wearing it. Girls can either wear a soccer uniform too or dress as sexy referees. Be sure to carry around a whistle and soccer ball.

Sport some boxing gloves and a training jacket and pretend to be an unstoppable boxing duo, like Clint Eastwood and Hilary Swank in the film "Million Dollar Baby." Make the costume realistic by giving yourself a black eye with face paint.

Superheroes are a great costume for sporty couples. Who else would look so good in spandex body suits? Either go as a crime-fighting team or hero and villain. Some superhero costume ideas are Batman and Poison Ivy, Lois Lane and Superman or Wonder Woman and Captain America.
