Packing with a checklist will allow you not to leave any important things at home.

Packing for a trip can be a very stressful and exhausting ordeal. When packing, whether it is for business or pleasure, there are essential items that you must remember to bring. A checklist eliminates anxiety and worry over wondering whether you have packed those important items, leaving you free to concentrate on your travels.

  1. Documents

    • It is essential that you make sure you have all necessary documents with you when traveling. If you are going overseas, you will need your passport. Without this you will not be allowed to travel, so be sure that you have this with you and keep it in a safe place, along with your tickets. Other documents you may need include travel maps, directions and accommodation contact information in case you get lost en route.

    Credit Cards and Cash

    • Credit or debit cards are a necessity which you will need to pay for your food, travel and other related costs. It is also a smart idea to bring a small amount of cash with you that is of the currency where you will be staying. You can make this exchange at your local bank before you leave to ensure that you have a stack of emergency cash on hand if a sticky situation should arise and you are not able to use your credit card to pay.

    Toiletries

    • Make sure to pack necessary toiletries such as your toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, floss, shampoo, hair products, razor or shavers, personal care items for women, and extra contact lenses and solution or corrective glasses if you require them.

    Clothes

    • Pack a decent amount of clothes that will last you for the required length of your journey. Include day clothes such as T-shirts, long sleeve tops, sweaters, pants, shorts and jackets. You may also need formal attire depending on the type of events you will be attending during your stay. Remember also to pack a good supply of undergarments, socks and a bathing suit if necessary.

    Medicine

    • If you are on medication it is vital that you keep up with your doses so remember to take these with you. Likewise, if you take other vitamins or nutritional supplements you should add these things to your checklist too.
