  • A first aid kit is an essential tool in any emergency situation that arises. First aid items help heal and treat a host of injuries when dealing with an accident or natural disaster. Necessary first aid items include: sterile bandages, antibiotic cream, gauze, tape, scissors, pain relievers, allergy medication, hot-cold packs and extra supply of all your medications. Emergency first aid kits are found at drug stores, big box retailers and online stores or the items can be purchased separately.

Clothes

  • Having emergency clothing in your car and house allows you to be comfortable in case of an emergency. Natural disasters can cause power and energy disruptions causing your heating and cooling system to not work. Depending on the climate, emergency clothes can include shorts and lightweight shirts in hot climates and heavy cold weather clothing in the northern cold climates. In the northern portion of the United Stated, it is especially important to carry emergency winter clothes in your vehicle in case you become stranded in the winter time.
