Granite has become increasingly popular for kitchen counter tops, bathroom vanity tops and even flooring and walls. There are plenty of colors to choose from. The Stone Network alone provides more than 1,500 images of granite choices, and there are thousands of colors available throughout the world. Granite is durable and elegant in any kitchen or bathroom.
Black granite has a variety of names. Absolute Black is a glossy black without color variation anywhere in the stone. It mainly comes from India, South Africa, Sweden or Australia. Other black granite colors such as Black Pearl and Black Galaxy are not completely black with various patterns.
There are many types and colors of azul granite. Azul is primarily a blue granite with color markings that can be black, gray, white or various shades of blue. Just a few of the blue granite choices are Blue Andes from Argentina, Blue Fantasy from India and Blue Pearl from Norway.
White granite has many variations of color, depending on where it is mined. For example, Big White Flower come from China and has black and gray markings, according to Kitchen Remodeling Pictures. Snow White comes from Canada, and White San Marcos is mined in Argentina.
Green granite is the most varied in its color markings. Norway's Emerald Pearl has blue and aqua shades. Olive Green, which comes from South Africa, has black bands through it. Forest Green, from India, includes shades of gray and rose. Other choices are Butterfly Green from Brazil, Hassan Green from India and Silver Sea Green from Saudi Arabia.
Shades of brown, gold and copper come from all over the world, but most are from South America and Brazil, according to Kitchen Remodeling Pictures. The Stone Network indicates others such as Coco Brown from Argentina, Sahara Brown from Egypt, Adobe and Autumn Brown from Canada and Kashmir Gold from India. Some have metallic colors with additional gray, black and white. Golden Leaf from Italy is primarily tan with flecks of white, gray and black. Yellow Capri comes from Brazil, and Shrimp Yellow is mined in China. Some granite, such as Imperial Yellow and Golden Dream, have a predominantly yellow color.
Shades of red range from crimson to rose, pink and lavender. Examples include Salmon Rose from Argentina, Almond Mauve from China, Arctic Red and Lilac Pearl from Finland, Raw Silk Pink from India and Pink Zanjan from Iran.
No two slabs of granite are alike. Even within the color selections, there will be variations among them. Once you have chosen your color, look at the slabs available and reserve the ones you want.
