According to a CNN Money survey, the advertising sales position is ranked number 11 out of the Top 50 Best Jobs in America. The average annual salary for this particular career is typically in the six-figure range, depending on the types and numbers of new accounts you can bring in, as well as based on your previous experience. Account supervisors and managers make between $58,000 and $90,000 per year, according to Careers in Marketing. Their typical daily responsibilities include client communications, analyzing consumer trends and competitive activity, forecasting agency profits and income, and creating client billing reports.

Copywriter

Talented writers who are not interested in living like starving artists can pursue lucrative copywriting careers in advertising. Unlike their journalist counterparts who often work for meager wages for many years at newspapers or magazines, advertising copywriters can make a fast buck writing print, radio and web ads. In fact mid-level and senior ad copywriters typically earn between $40,000 and $75,000 per year, according to Careers in Marketing.

Creative Director

If you have several years experience in advertising, along with a background in writing, art or design, you can earn top dollars in a creative director position. These creative professionals manage the creative teams typically comprised of art directors, copywriters and editors. They lead the teams in creating ad concepts, as well as manage their overall execution. According to PayScale, creative directors earn between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on their overall experience.

Online Brand and Marketing Manager

Online marketing and advertising is a big business, and advertising agencies employ online marketing managers to oversee their clients’ web presences, as well as manage online marketing campaigns and efforts. If you are an expert in social networking and have a professional background or education in marketing, consider this top-paying position. According to a Wall Street Journal article, brand marketing managers can earn nearly $60,000 after five years, while online marketing managers may bring in $55,000 with only five years work experience.
