Valentines Day Brownie Decorating Ideas
Nothing says "I love you" like homemade baked goods, especially when you take the time to decorate them appropriately. There are many methods for decorating valentine's day brownies, but some require a little expertise before they'll look great. For the nonprofessional, it is recommended that you practice on the "imperfect" brownies in the batch. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Frosting
-
The simplest frosting decorations involve slathering on some red or pink sweet stuff. With a cake decorating bag and different tips, you can get more creative. You can write your significant other's name, write love messages and draw hearts. If you are trained in pastry decoration you can create flowers and other shapes on the brownies.
Dusting Sugar
-
With confectioner's sugar you can create very complex valentine's day designs. You can purchase templates from a baking shop, or make your own out of paper. When cutting the paper, remember that the sugar falls through the cut-out parts. It is easy to create the design on the brownie. Simply hold the paper directly over the top of the pastry (or place the design on it if there is no icing), and gently sift or shake powdered sugar over the design. You can buy colored sugar if you want to be even more festive.

Sprinkles and Candy
-
While the icing is still fresh you can add sprinkles in valentine's day colors or decorate the brownies with valentine's candies or chocolate chips. Small candies can be arranged in heart shapes. You can smash red or pink peppermints and sprinkle them over the wet icing for a minty bite.
Fruit
-
If you don't want sugar overload, then adding fruit to your valentine's day brownies is the thing for you. Raspberries and strawberries are the perfect color for the holiday and taste great with chocolate. Fruits like apples, pineapples and star fruit can be shaped into hearts and flowers to go on top of your valentine's day brownies.
