“Nightlife in San Diego never sleeps,” according to SanDiegoClubs.com. This holds true even on Monday nights, when the options include events at bars and clubs or a quiet dinner and a stroll. No matter what sort of evening you’re in the mood for, you won’t suffer from lack of something to do on a Monday night in San Diego.

Nightlife

  • Bars and clubs in San Diego are not only open for business, many offer Happy Hour drink specials to get the week started. Attend Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Altitude Sky Lounge (altitudeskylounge.com), dubbed "one of the top bars in the world” by SanDiegoClubs.com. The Avenue 5 Restaurant and Bar (avenue5restaurant.com), located in the Bankers Hill District, is known as a “molecular bar” because of its scientific approach in crafting drinks. Happy Hour takes place during 5 to 7 p.m. every night, including Mondays.

Gaslamp Quarter

  • Located in Downtown San Diego, the historic Gaslamp Quarter (gaslamp.org) spans more than 16 blocks and features Victorian architecture, art galleries, dining, shopping and entertainment. Enjoy dinner at one of dozens of restaurants, including 13 Italian restaurants, five Asian restaurants and eight steakhouses, as of 2011.

Seaport Village

  • Spend Monday evening at Seaport Village (seaportvillage.com), a waterfront complex that spans 14 acres and offers visitors casual and fine dining options, specialty shops and boutiques, and entertainment. After dinner, take an evening stroll along the four miles of cobblestone lakefront paths or along the boardwalk, stretching a quarter mile along San Diego Bay. Seaport Village also features art galleries, a bookstore and coffeehouse. The complex closes at 9 p.m., as of 2011, but the bars and clubs stay open later.

Dinner Cruise

  • Enjoy the views of San Diego Bay and fine dining aboard a Monday night dinner cruise. Flagship Cruises & Events (flagshipsd.com) features a 2 1/2--hour dinner cruise on weeknights with complimentary boarding champagne, a three-course meal and music entertainment by a DJ. Hornblower Cruises & Events (hornblower.com) offers a three-hour cruise with fining dining, complimentary boarding champagne or sparkling cider, complimentary coffee and tea, music and dancing.
