Kicker L5 Specs

Kicker is an electronics company specializing in the manufacture of audio systems. Kicker is technically a subsidiary of Stillwater Designs. Kicker originally made its name as one of the very first companies to start producing high-quality in-car sound systems, and it is still a strong competitor in this market. The Kicker L5 Solo-baric subwoofer is a 15-inch subwoofer designed for in-car use.

  1. Construction

    • The Kicker L5 uses a SoloKon poly-material cone as a sound carrier. This features Kicker's unique square-cone design that has a larger cone surface area, and allows for greater movement and saving space, compared to a traditional round cone. The L5 is designed as a tough product, with stitched Santoprene rubber surround and a strong steel basket casing.

    Sound

    • The L5 uses dual-voice coils and has a sensitivity of 87.8 decibels. This is a measure of how efficiently the device converts power into sound. The speaker can transmit at frequencies between 18 and 100 hertz, which makes it a subwoofer, although it can also produce sounds at a higher frequency than most subwoofers.

    Power Consumption

    • The CVR 12-inch has an RMS (root mean squared) power consumption of 600 watts and a peak power handling of 1,500 watts. The device has an impedance of 2 ohms.

    Mounting

    • The L5 is a square speaker designed for a square mounting space. A cutout length of 13 5/8 inches and a top mounting depth of 8 5/8 inches are needed to mount the device.

    Warranty

    • Kicker provides a one-year labor and parts warranty on this device.
