Use a Squeegee
-
Professional window cleaners use a squeegee to clean their windows without making streaks or watermarks on the window. Use a professional-grade squeegee that has a sharp and new rubber blade. If you use an old blade, the squeegee will not be able to pull the window cleaning solution from the surface of the window and it will leave streaks and marks. Some professionals change their squeegee blade after cleaning all of the windows on one house.
Wipe the Squeeegee
-
Wipe the blade of the squeegee after every pass on the window. This prevents the window cleaning solution from running down the windows and dripping onto the window frame and sill. Wipe it with a microfiber cloth to absorb as much of the window cleaning solution as possible.

Wipe the Perimeter
-
Squeegees are effective in removing the window cleaning solution from the surface of the glass, but they are not always capable of getting the edge where the glass meets the window frame. If you don't clean this area, dirt could pool there and eventually drip. This ruins the look of your windows. Prevent this by wrapping a microfiber cloth around your finger and running it down the edges of the glass. Do this until all of the edges are clean.
Clean on Cloudy Days
-
Clean interior windows on cloudy days. When it is sunny outside, the sun hits the windows and heats them up. This heat makes the window cleaning solution dry too quickly. You may not be able to let the cleaning solution sit on the windows for long. If you have large windows, the solution on the bottom of the window might be dry before you are able to remove it.
