Valpak is a designer and printer of coupon, flyer, and card templates. It produces its products in both monochrome and in full colors and makes its products available with a number of general features, as well as further customizable specialty features upon request. The Blue Envelope, which is Valpak's flagship product features savings from over 53,000 advertisers ranging from local to national brands. The offers and savings included in The Blue Envelope fall within the core and specialty groups of formats.
The core formats in the Valpak envelope include one, two and three panel sizes. Side one either possesses two colors, which are spot colors made through the use of four colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), or uses full color with the four inks mentioned. Side two can be equipped with zero to all four colors. All products in the Valpak scheme are generated using a Premium Color (four color process) on glossy white paper. The exception to this, is the specialty formats, such cardstock, magnets and supplied inserts.
A number of specialty formats are produced by Valpak. These include: super flyers; coupon booklets, which are available in all markets; 1-panel coupon on 9pt. cardstock; 3-panel flyers on 9pt. cardstock; 3-panel full bleed flyers on glossy paper; coupon magnets; and client supplied inserts.
Test Specific Formats
Valpak can also undertake a number of specific test formats. These include: 1-panel die cut cardstock, although die cuts are not included in any test formats, and turn key is not offered for die cuts except on a one-off basis; scratch and sniff formats; cards; and BRM formats (See Reference 2).
Premium Color Inks
The one panel Premium Color coupon possesses a live area of 3 inches by 7.875 inches and a trim of 3.5 inches by 8.25 inches. The two panel Premium Color flyer by Valpak has a live area of 7.875 inches by 6.5 inches and a trim of 8.25 inches by 7 inches. The thee panel Premium Color flyer has a live area of 7.85 inches by10 inches and a trim of 8.5 inches by 10.5 inches. Finally, the one panel coupon magnet has Premium Color specs of 3 inches by 7.875 inches live area and 3.5 inches by 8.5 inches trim, and the Full Bleed version has a live area of 3.75 inches by 8.75 inches and a trim of 3.5 inches by 8.5 inches.
Valpak has made miniature magnets for attachment to the back of the card-stock, so as to fasten them to any metal object and extend the shelf life of the designated message. The magnet was designed to be compact---the size of a quarter---and affordable compared to those offered by Valpak's competitors.
