Make a cake to celebrate this exciting event.

A baptism is a big event in a person's life and is cause for celebration for the family. It is traditional to celebrate the baptism with a party with food and presents. A baptismal cake puts a special touch on commemorating the day. This cake can feature some symbols of faith to highlight the person's baptism.

  1. Cross

    • Make a cake in the shape of a cross. Use a sheet cake and cut away square sections from the corners to create a cross shape. Cover with frosting and add the name of the baptismal candidate and date using a frosting bag.

    Inscribed Bible

    • Create a cake that looks like an open Bible. Using a fine tip frosting bag or piping bag, write an inscription on the open pages. Include the name of the person baptized, the date and a line from the Bible which is applicable to the event. If that is too complicated, just draw squiggly lines to represent text and write the person's name.

    Photo Image Cake

    • Have a cake made with a photo of the person baptized. Choose a photo of the person at church if possible and have the image made into a sugar sheet placed onto a sheet cake. These are an easy yet classy way to have an elegant cake.

    Angel

    • Cut a cake into the shape of an angel. You can also cut the outline of a person and fake wings to the sides to make it look like an angel. Make a halo out of wire and cover with tulle. Use frosting or fondant to create facial details and give the angel an outfit.
