Ideas for Fashion Jewelry Designs With Crystals
Fashion jewelry, sometimes referred to as costume jewelry, is a term for jewelry that is pretty to look at but not extremely valuable. Fashion jewelry is often made with beads, crystals and semi-precious stones that are strung or attached as pendants on a chain. Because there are many colors of the popular bicone-shape crystals available, there is surely something for every project. Make some additions to your wardrobe that sparkle with jewelry made from crystals.

Necklace
-
A stunning crystal necklace can be made with seed beads, crystals and beading thread. Find a mix of seed beads that interest you or pick crystals that match your wardrobe. Mix all the beads together and string three lengths of beading thread with the beads in an alternating fashion. Work without a pattern, or you can create one that suits your style best. Attach all three lengths to a clasp and trim the ends.
Earrings
-
Craft a pair of crystal earrings to match every outfit by choosing two shades of crystals, head pins and jump rings. Place one crystal of each color on a head pin to make 18 total, nine of each color. Use pliers to bend the wire to a 90-degree angle and clip off the ends. Continue the bend of the head pin to make a loop that is almost all the way closed. Attach seven jump rings to the earring wire to form a single-file chain. Skip to the third jump ring from the earring wire and attach four of the head pins, two of each color. Squeeze the loops of the head pins completely closed once on the jump ring. Continue to the next three jump rings and attach four more of the head pins with crystals. Attach the remaining two anywhere there is a bare spot, or to the very last jump ring.

Bracelet
-
A crystal bracelet is an entertaining afternoon project that can be completed in under one hour. Pick matching beads and crystals -- or use what is left over from making a necklace -- and memory wire to create a unique bracelet that shimmers with color. Cut a piece of memory wire with wire cutters, and bend one end inwards on itself to create a stopper so the beads will not slide off. String beads on in any pattern desired, adding crystal beads at regular intervals. Memory wire is fun to work with because you can create a bracelet that looks as if it has many strands. Since it is one continuous piece of wire, these bracelets take almost no time to make.
Rings
-
Beads and a spool of wire are all you need to create your own one-of-a-kind rings for every outfit. Mix and match crystal elements with pearls and silver findings to make a colorful cluster ring. Thread onto a head pin a combination of three beads to make a total of 50 beaded head pins. Make them in batches of 10 each so you will have five different combinations. Bend the head pins to a 90-degree angle and snip the excess from the tails. Continue bending the head pins around until they make a loop that is almost completely closed. Attach the head pins to an adjustable beadable ring with 10 loops. Attach one of each combination of head pin to every loop in a random fashion. Pinch the head pin completely closed once on the loop of the ring.
