The Graphics Card Requirements for WoW

Blizzard's World of Warcraft places players in the fantasy world of Azeroth. Azeroth's environs encompass thriving cities, vast plains, dark forests, deep dungeons, and everything in between. Bringing the sweeping vistas, fearsome creatures and mystical spells to life means meeting the graphical demands of Azeroth's world. While many computers can run World of Warcraft, the graphics card has to meet some minimum requirements in order to display properly.

  1. World of Warcraft - PC

    • To run World of Warcraft and most of the expansions, Blizzard entertainment recommends that your computer be equipped with at least an NVIDIA GeForce FX or an ATI Radeon 9500 video card or better. However, for optimal results Blizzard recommends a 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or an ATI Radeon HD 2600 or better.

    World of Warcraft - Mac

    • For Mac users, Blizzard recommends a Mac computer equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT or an ATI Radeon HD 4670 video card. Most Mac computers available in 2011 are already equipped to handle the minimum requirements of World of Warcraft and most of it's expansions.

    The Burning Crusade - PC

    • To run the World of Warcraft expansion "The Burning Crusade," Blizzard recommends at least a video card with a 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 64 MB VRAM. It recommends ATI Radeon 9600 or an NVIDIA GeForce Ti 4600 or better to meet this need. For ideal performance, it recommends a video card with a 3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability and 128 MB VRAM. It recommends the ATI Radeon X1600 or the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT card for these requirements.

    The Burning Crusade - Mac
