Felt Easter Egg Holder
-
Crayon holders can be made out of felt in the shape of decorative Easter eggs. Cut and trim the felt to make an oval (egg) shape and sew on another piece of felt about half the size of the first piece but the same width to make a pocket. Once this piece is sewn on, sew each section of the second piece of felt vertically to create individual crayon slots. Sew additional pieces of felt, sequins or other embellishments on the holder for decorative purposes.
Can Holders
-
Wash and dry aluminum cans to create crayon holders. Remove all labeling and lids as well. Paint the cans solid colors for every color crayon you have--red, blue, orange, yellow, green, purple, pink and so on. Place crayons in their matching holder and display them in an area of a classroom where crafts are made or in a kid's art room.

Jean Pocket Holder
-
Utilize the back pockets of old jeans, including their backing, for a number of craft projects including as crayon holders. Sew individual crayon holder sections into the pockets or leave them loose to hold more crayons. Decorate the jeans with fabric pens, such as writing "[Name's] Crayons" on them. Other decoration ideas include sequins, beads, fake crystals, fabric scrap strips and decorating with glittery glue. Decorate several jeans pockets differently for holding different color crayons.
Turkey Crayon Holder
-
Make turkey crayon holders using plastic foam balls. Cut a one 4-inch diameter foam ball in half to work as the bird body and then attach a 2-inch craft foam ball as the bird head. Use card stock to make the beak and use googly eyes for the eyes. Use a pencil to poke holes in the back of the of larger foam ball piece for sticking a variety of crayons in the back to act as bird feathers. Such crafts work as fun table placement settings for the kids' table at your Thanksgiving dinner.
