Wedding cakes can be designed to look however you want.

A wedding cake is often the center of attention at a wedding reception. When a bride and groom select a wedding cake design, it's a chance for them to incorporate their personal style and creativity. If you're designing a wedding cake and need ideas for how to design one with a mint green and tan color scheme, there are a variety of options to choose from. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Color Coordinating

    • You could alternate the colors on each tier of the cake if you have a tiered cake. For example, if you have a three tiered cake the first and third tiers could be mint green and the second one could be tan. On the mint green tiers you could add tan accents and on the tan tier you could add mint green accents.

Another idea is to make the entire cake one solid color of either mint green or tan and add accents with the other color or have a white cake and add both mint green and tan accents.

    Accents

    • Accents help to add creativity and variety to a wedding cake. Flowers, beads, lettering, fruit, polka dots, stars, ribbon and anything else you can think of can be added to a cake as accents. They can either be edible or not. For a cake with a mint green and tan color scheme, you could use accents with those same colors or neutral colored accents such as silver, gold or diamonds and crystals.

    Toppers

    • Wedding cake toppers can include the traditional bride and groom figurine or a variety of other items such as the bride and groom's initials, flowers, fruits, hearts or even butterflies. Like with the accents, for a mint green and tan cake it's a good idea to have toppers that use those same colors or a neutral color such as silver or gold or neutral colored stones such as crystals and diamonds.

    Shapes and Designs

    • Wedding cakes can be made into almost any shape and design you want. Common wedding cake shapes are tiered circles, squares and triangles of different sizes. Designs often include cakes that look like gift boxes and wedding dress layers and ruffles. To help you achieve a unique cake you could combine different shapes instead of using just one.
