Quick games are a fun way to pass the time.

There are many moments in life when you might need to pass the time quickly with a fun game. These moments could be anything from sitting in a waiting room, traveling in the car, or waiting for a loved one to get ready to go out. Luckily, there are a variety of games in a variety of platforms for you and others to enjoy while trying to pass a few moments.

  1. Twenty Questions

    • As players are limited to asking twenty questions, this question and answer game is quick and fun and can be played anywhere. There are also no set rules so its up to you and whoever you're playing with to decide what the categories are. Classics include vegetable, animal or mineral, but you could choose to make the categories more contemporary with TV, Movie or Music stars. Twenty Questions is the perfect game for car journeys and waiting rooms.

    Building Block Game

    • Building block games such as "Jenga" are fun and quick games to play to pass time. Players have to remove blocks from a tall tower and place them back at the top without causing the tower to topple. Although the game is simple at its core, it is possible to play the game strategically. The element of competition adds a layer of suspense to proceedings and as many as four people can join in.

    Slapjacks

    • Slapjacks, or Snap, is the first card game that some people learn to play as children and as such it manages to maintain its sense of fun even in adulthood. A deck of cards is dealt out among all players and they must discard their cards one at a time in turns onto the central pile. When a pair appears the players must each try to be the first to slap the deck. Whoever was the first one to slap the deck collects all of the cards from the central deck, shuffle them, and add them to the bottom of his own deck. The winner is the player who ends up with all the cards. The game is intended to be over quickly and so it's the perfect game to pass a few minutes.

    WarioWare Video Game

    • The WarioWare series of video games are comprised of hundreds of microgames -- games which the player has between three and five seconds to complete. One of the most recent additions to the franchise is "WarioWare: Touched" which is available for the Nintendo DS. The rapid-fire nature of the game keeps you on your toes and as the microgames are so brief you can pick up the game, play it for five minutes and have completed tens of levels in that time.
