Decorating with a theme that has meaning for you and your future spouse is a way to add sentiment to the entire event. For example, if you are blending families, place photos of the children throughout the ceremony and reception areas to add a sentimental touch for family and friends as well as for your children. For a small ceremony ask each guest to bring a single stem flower of his choice. These flowers can be gathered and then used in the bridal bouquet, for corsages or even placed on the ground creating a ceremonial circle for the bride and groom to stand inside during their vows.

For larger guest lists, the favors should be something that holds meaning such as a Compact Disc with songs from the wedding. Flower seeds can also be given so the guests can plant the seeds in a flower bed and be reminded of the couple and the wedding every time they see the flowers.

Sentimental wedding themes are romantic and true to who the bride and groom are as a couple. Having the wedding and reception in a place the bride and groom met represents a theme of its own. Include flowers, doves or hearts for a romantic, sentimental theme that everyone will enjoy and remember. Sentimental themes can also be focused around a favorite sport or hobby for which the bride and broom share a love. For example if the couple shares a love of horses, the theme can be a country one or the ceremony could be performed on horseback.
