Creation Classroom Crafts for Preschoolers
Your lesson plan to teach the biblical story of creation to preschool children can be reinforced through simple crafts. Choose an easy craft involving coloring, pasting or painting for this age group. Any basic craft allowing them to illustrate God's creations on each day will serve as a reminder of the story of creation.

Creation Book
-
Preschoolers can easily color or paste to create their own book showing the story of creation. Provide each child with a set of eight paper plates, pieces of cardboard or construction paper. On the first plate or piece of paper, write "God Created..." in marker. Instruct the children to paste or color pictures of the sun, clouds, animals and the other creations on separate pages. You can then write the appropriate day on each picture. Punch a hole in each page or plate and bind together with yarn or ribbon to provide each child with his own creation storybook.
Creation Puzzle
-
Print a coloring page showing God's creations. Include the sun, the sky, the ocean, animals and people. Copy it onto thick card stock and give each child a copy to color. Discuss how God created each thing they are coloring. When they are finished, cut each page into puzzle pieces. Give each child her puzzle to take home. You can also laminate the pages before cutting into puzzle pieces for a more durable puzzle.

Lightswitch Cover
-
Cut a piece of card stock the size of a light switch plate. Print or draw a picture of the sun on it with the words "And God said, let there be light." Ask each child color his piece of card stock. You can also have each child glue a foam sun or other picture on the card. Be sure to leave room to cut out a hole in the center for the light switch. After the children are finished, cut out the light switch hole and send the covers home for the children to place over their bedroom's light switch.
Creation Collage
-
Provide a large box of cut out magazine pictures showing elements of the creation. Include pictures of the sun, the moon, the stars and the land and ocean as well as pictures of animals and people. Give each child a piece of construction paper and a glue stick. Ask them to select pictures to glue onto their paper to create a collage of all of God's creations.
